Posting Club Newsletters (or other files) on the District 13-F Website
If you would like me to post your club's newsletters to the District Web Site, just send me an E-mail note to WebMaster@District13FLions.org to let me know and/or talk it over. I can accept only softcopy files via e-mail, but I can handle plain text, html, Rich Text (.rtf), Microsoft word (.doc) and Adobe Reader (.pdf) files.
I generally just convert whatever you send me into a PDF file (to retain all your just-perfect formatting).
If you use something else to write your newsletter, I can probably handle that, too, if Microsoft Word 2000 (yes, I hate to pay Micro$oft for upgrades,) can convert/print your file-type (we'll need to try it, first, to see if the result suits us both). After any required negotiation, you can just e-mail me your newsletter as an attachment, and I'll update it each month. Club newsletters can be accessed from the main page of the district website, via the "Go to: Club Newsletters" link.
Linking to Club Web Sites from the District 13-F Website
If you would like me to link your club's website to the District Web Site, just send me an E-mail note to WebMaster@District13FLions.org indicating your website address ("URL"). Club websites can be accessed from the main page of the district website, under the "Club Web Sites" section.
Special Events Calendar
If you would like me to post a special event (of general interest to other clubs) to the District Event Calendar I would be happy to do so. Just E-mail me with the relevant information ("who, what, when, where, how, why ...") and a contact telephone number and/or e-mail address where Lions may obtain further information. Entries on the calendar can be linked to pages elsewhere, if you send me a URL
Computer or Internet Technical Questions
I have been a computer programmer since 1973 and a home computer user since the original IBM PC was released. There are three computers permanently resident at my house (I'm not counting the 4-5 old ones stored on basement shelves), laptops that come and go, and there's an iMac in the basement. If I can answer any technical questions about computers, networking, web sites, e-mail, etc I will be happy to do so.
