Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I register my Kroger Plus Card to provide eye care for the needy?
A: View the instructions in the attachment at the bottom of this page.

Q: Who may participate?
A: Lions members, family and friends. We may not solicit to the general public.

Q: What are eligible purchases?
A: Eligible Purchases shall consist of those retail purchases made at any Columbus Division Kroger Food Store by an Eligible Participant who presents a Kroger Plus Card at the time of purchase. If the card is not presented during the transaction the Food for Sight program will not be credited. Purchases of alcohol, tobacco, government assisted pharmacy expenses, postage stamps, Kroger Gift Cards, gift certificates, lottery and promotional tickets, fuel, fuel center purchases, office services and sales tax are excluded from eligible purchases. Eligible pharmacy purchases include out-of-pocket co-pays for non-government-assisted pharmacy programs.

Q: Why am I asked to send my Kroger Plus Card number to the coordinator? (address found at the bottom of this page)
A: Registering your number with the coordinator gives us the ability to give your club credit for the hard work it does. It also helps the program determine where to put its resources to ensure the best success for the future of this fund raising program.

Q: How do my purchases help the Eye Care fund?
A: Each quarter Kroger calculates how much they will contribute to this program. The Eye Care fund receives a check based on the percentage of spending of our group in comparison to that of other registered organizations.

Q: How will I know how well my club is doing?
A: If the coordinator knows your president's email address, your president will receive a quarterly notice. If you personally would like to be included in a notification, contact the coordinator..

Q: Do I have to be a member of a Lions Club to participate?
A: No, family and friends may participate.

Q: What is a Columbus Division Food Store?
A: Most Krogers within Ohio, Michigan and West Virgina are in the Columbus Division.

Q: Once I enroll will I be enrolled forever?
A: No. Currently you are only enrolled for one year. At the end of the year, if Kroger is continuing the program, you must re-enroll.

Q: What if this FAQ did not answer my question?
A: Please contact the fund raising coordinator:
